Hang wings in the wind

Industry status

Reinforcement of industrial competitiveness in connection with large-scale projects

  • Early start of large-scale project

    1. Ulsan (1.4 GW) + Southeast region (4.6 GW) floating offshore wind power

       - Ulsan City promotes phased construction starting in 2023 by signing MOU with 6 domestic and
foreign private investors in addition to self-development (200MW)
(currently, wind condition gauges are being installed)
       * Korea Petroleum Corporation-Equinor, Shell-ConesHexicon, GIG, CIP-SK E&S, KFWIND, Equinor

  • Support for strengthening industrial competitiveness

    1. Reinforcement of support for large-capacity-floating technology development and demonstration

       - Promoting the development and demonstration of 8MW class large-capacity turbines suitable for
low wind speed environments in a timely manner so that they can be applied to large-scale
        domestic projects (22. first half)

       - Promoting development of floating offshore wind power systems with high future potential,
floating bodies, mooring systems, and cables for offshore wind power generation

    2. Expansion of infrastructure construction

       - Support for the construction of hinterland ports and installation equipment (dedicated ships, etc.)

  • Support to improve project economics

    1. Establishment of carbon reduction guarantee system

       - Conduct carbon value evaluation on renewable energy technologies and facilities and provide
guarantees to companies and power generation companies from the Korea Technology Guarantee Fund
